In 2008 I was part of the committee helping with organizing JGBS Alumni Association.
Our goal is to pay it forward by blessing someone who may need just a little help.

Joining the JGBS Alumni Association is my way of honoring the wonderful educators from 1972 – 1984, who helped me become the social justice leader I am today.

The Alumni Association keeps this heritage alive and vibrantly visible to the whole community. It is fellowship that binds those who move on from classes without walls, brings them together to celebrate and help do for others what their extraordinary education continues for them.
Becoming a member of the JGBS Alumni Association is simple. Just take a moment to provide your contact information, and an alumni officer will reach out to you.

What does it mean to be an alumni member?
Joining the JGBS Alumni Association offers fulfilling opportunities to volunteer on projects benefiting the Brown School community. With no membership fee, we simply request your time, talent, and support for alumni projects and annual fundraising initiatives for Scholarship Campaigns, assisting graduating seniors in their college and career pursuits.
Since 1999, the JGBS Alumni Association has awarded $70,000 in scholarship grants and aims to increase this amount annually. We are proud to state that 100% of our donations go directly toward scholarships for each senior class.
THE FOUNDING
Founded in 1990, the JGBS Alumni Association of Louisville, KY, upholds a strong dedication to the Brown School’s heritage and values among its graduates. The association encourages volunteerism, service projects, and civic engagement, inviting alumni to contribute their time, skills, and resources. It welcomes all former students and staff, aiming to preserve the school’s distinctive history.
Our alumni exemplify how a Brown School education can profoundly shape lives. The value extends far beyond just earning a diploma. Even for those who don’t complete their entire education here, the experience instills a sense of pride and a commitment to kindness, connection, and confidence in oneself and others. The camaraderie, celebration of diversity, and love for learning fostered in our relaxed yet inspiring atmosphere make our alumni association a truly enriching community to belong to.
